Roxana's story

Roxana, 35, is a single mother of two children aged 9 and 4 respectively that she lives with in her parents’ house. Roxana works selling regional food. She works Monday to Saturday mornings in a busy stand she has in the market and in the evenings she sells on the sidewalk at home. She’s been in business six years and she works alone.

Since she started the business she’s succeeded in improving her living conditions which is why she continues with this activity. She likes her work because thanks to it her children are attending school and despite her intense activity she has time to help her children with their homework and to be by their side when they need her. Like all enterprising women, she has many future plans and although she’s already made progress she wants to continue doing so.

This is her 5th Kiva loan and she’s very grateful for the financial support received which is why she commits to make her payments punctually. She will use the requested 3,000 soles to buy ingredients like rice, meat, condiments and others to continue preparing her dishes and also to buy tables and chairs for her food stand.
