A loan of $1,400 helped to buy cosmetics.

Olga's story

Olga, 30, is a single mother of an 8-year-old daughter who she raises in her own house providing the best living conditions and covering all her needs. Olga sells cosmetics and other daily use accessories. She sells perfume, talc, body cream as well as earrings and other jewelry. All of her merchandise is shipped to her in large packages from another city. She sells these goods at home both for cash and on credit; she collects daily, weekly or biweekly payments.

She’s been in this occupation for 8 years and sometimes gets help from her mother or from a private mototaxi driver who helps her transport all her merchandise. She feels very satisfied because of how well she’s doing at this stage because her sales are good and as a result so are her profits. Now, she hopes to continue growing and later on get a sales stand to display her goods with more ease.

This is her 8th Kiva loan and she thanks those who make access to this financing possible because she’ll feel more confident about advancing in her work. On the other hand, she commits to make her payments punctually. She will use the requested 3,800 soles to buy merchandise consisting in various types of cosmetics and female accessories like perfume, cream and talc, among others.
