A loan of $750 helped to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Lida's story

Lida, 41, is single and has no children. She currently lives in her mother’s house with her sister and niece. Lida works selling snacks and to do so opened a store in her mother’s house where she sells various items like candy, chocolates, cookies and others; she also sells soft-drinks.

She started out selling snacks thanks to a little capital she was able to save up over time. Since then she’s been able to multiply her investment and her profits are satisfactory. She acquires her products making purchases every two days. She’s been in this line of work for about 8 years. She works with her mother’s and her sister’s help; they take care of the store when she’s away from home. What she likes about her activity is being able to earn income that helps cover her personal costs and also helps her cover household expenses.

This is her fourth Kiva loan and she’s grateful to the people who provide the financing she needs to make her plans reality. On the other hand, she commits to make her payments punctually. She will use the requested 2,000 soles to buy snacks like chocolates, candy, cookies and corn puffs at wholesale.
