Bineta's Group's story

This group is composed of six women who live in the same village. They all work in commerce. They are on their tenth loan. Bineta is the group's representative. She is 43 years old, married, and the mother of three girls (16, 12, and 9 years old) and five boys (21, 18, 15, 11, and 4 years old). She does commerce in shellfish. She waits at the wharf for the boats to arrive back from fishing, and she purchases their entire load. Later, she sells some of the goods dried and some of them fresh. With her loan, she intends to purchase 5 boats of 100 kg of shellfish at 100,000 francs each. The profits generated enable her to provide for her children in terms of food, healthcare, and schooling.
