A loan of $2,825 helped a member to buy cassava (the essential ingredient for manufacturing chikwange).

Abigaël Group's story

The client Mbombo is the representative for the Abigaël Group credit association. She is a senior member, a courageous entrepreneur, experienced, 57 years of age, and the mother of four children, some of whom have already founded their own homes. Her husband is a driver. The client is selling the chikwange (fermented cassava), a purely Congolese meal. She started her business with funds she received from her husband about 18 years ago. This new loan will be used to buy cassava (the essential ingredient for manufacturing chikwange). Selling on credit is a major obstacle to the development of her business. In the future, Mbombo wants to expand her business and educate her grandchildren. She is thankful to Hekima for their micro loan support of women entrepreneurs.
