A loan of $750 helped to buy bags of maize, beans, tea and flour.

Fatuma's story

Fatuma lives in Mombasa, Kenya. She runs a cafeteria. This is what she has done for the last fifteen years. She is a married woman blessed with four children all of whom attend school. She has one employee in her business. She wanted credit to help her run her business and this led her to the Milango offices.

She now seeks a loan to buy bags of maize, beans, tea and flour. Her husband is employed and this is an additional income for the family. She intends to open another cafe in town in the course of the next five years. The major challenges that she faces in this business is the unpredictable weather and that the municipal council keeps disturbing things from time to time. The income she will raise from the loan will help her pay school fees for her children.
