A loan of $4,425 helped a member to purchase peanuts, smoked fish, and dried fish.

Saye's Group's story

This group of six persons is part of the 'banc villageois' created on February 20, 2000. It is composed of women who live in and around the same village. They live in perfect harmony.

Fatou, who is standing at the right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 47 years old, married, and the mother of seven children, including three girls. She also has two other children to support. Her work is in retail commerce.

With this loan, Fatou intends to purchase smoked fish and dried fish to resell. She is also going to purchase 50 kg of peanuts to process into oil. The profits will go to fattening sheep, to providing for their children, and also to bolstering her savings.
