Amenata's story

Amenata is 40 years-old and lives in the West point area which has the most populated market in Montserrado County. She is married, and does not know how to read or write. She has four children aged 21, 19,17, and 15 which live at home and only two attend school. She describes herself as a hardworking woman.

For the past seven years, she has been selling fashion slippers at the local market. She sells six days a week from 7AM to 5PM. She likes her business because she has many customers, and she started this business with money given to her by husband. She uses a shared taxi every time to get her slippers at her business spot.

Amenata is requesting a loan in order to purchase more slippers for her business. Her dream is to build a house for her children. She would like to thank the lenders who support Kiva partner BRAC Liberia.
