Maa Tarini Self Help Group's story

In 2007, nine women came together and formed the Maa Tarini Self Help Group to save money and help those are facing problems in the group.

Sabitri is the group member selected as the leader of Maa Tarini Self Help Group. The lady siting in the middle of the photograph and wearing a blue color saree is Sabitri. Sabitri is married and has one son. She is 46 years old and stays with her son and her husband.

Sabitri has applied for a loan for paddy cultivation. She is very talented and has been operating her business for the past six years. With the loan investment, she will buy fertilizers, pesticides and hybrid seed, and pay the labor charges that will allow her to do her work more efficiently. Her husband is also helping her in the paddy cultivation.

Sabitri started her business six years ago because it is difficult for her husband to manage the household expenses in addition to paying for their son's education. Her son is enrolled in local schools and getting education. She is confident that her son will be able to continue his education and become successful in life.
