Rose is married with two children, one of whom attends school. She also takes care of her grandmother.
Rose has had a business, selling charcoal, for eight years. She has applied for loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from MCDT SACCO to purchase more bags of charcoal. She generates additional income from a grocery shop.
Rose sells her products, on a retail basis, seven days a week. The major challenges facing her business include seasonality and theft. Rose aspires to be a wholesaler and to build her own house. She resides in a rented house, where the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and rent.
