Irene is married with six children, two of whom go to school. She has a business, selling Irish potatoes and cassava. Irene has been in this business for 10 years.
Irene has applied for a loan of 1,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from MCDTSACCO to purchase bags of sweet potatoes and cassava.
Irene generates additional income by selling used clothes. She works at the market, seven days a week, on a retail basis. The major challenges to her business include transportation and seasonality.
Irene aspires to own a delivery van, to use for transportation and to become a wholesaler. She lives in her own house and her family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses includes school fees and utility bills.
