A loan of $1,525 helped a member to purchase feed and to renovate the pig cages.

Warna Sari Group's story

Warna Sari Group resumes their borrowing from Koperasi Mitra Usaha Kecil (MUK). To increase the price of piglets, they changed the method of maintenance. Some members still maintain a sow and the other members maintain super-quality pigs for fattening or local pigs for pork rolls.

With this method, the sales of pigs will remain in this group only. The members who have sows, will sell their piglets to other members who raise pigs for fattening or pork rolls; the fattened pigs and pork rolls will be sold, in turn, to a big buyer.

Luh chose to maintain a sow and she will use her loan to purchase feed and to renovate the cages. She hopes this new method will work, so she and the Warna Sari group can get satisfactory results.
