A loan of $500 helped to purchase timbers to build a new house.

Naram's story

Naram is 41 years old. She is married and resides with five children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than five years, earning approximately $2 daily. Her husband is a fisherman who makes an income of $4 each day to help cover the family’s expenses. Two of her children are garment workers. They earn about $6 per day. Due to lack of funds, Naram is requesting a loan of $500 to purchase timbers to build a new house. This purchase will enable her to finish building her house and help her provide better living conditions for her family. In the future, she would like to run a tailoring shop and help her children earn a bachelor’s degree.
