A loan of $1,100 helped to buy products such as rice, sugar, milk, and other items.

Vanesa's story

Vanesa, 35 years old, is a kind and hard-working woman. She lives in her own home with her husband and 2 children ages 16 and 4. Vanesa works by selling food products such as rice, sugar, beans, and other items. She established this business on the sidewalk of her house. She also sells soft drinks, ice, and ice cream, which also generate income that is necessary to buy food and pay for daily expenses. Her husband contributes the money he earns as a mototaxi driver.

What she likes most about her job is that it doesn't demand a lot of effort and she can rest and stay health since awhile ago, her doctor told her to rest for medical reasons. She likes the pace at which her sales booth is growing. With time, she hopes to put together the money needed to set up a small grocery store, which will allow her to maintain her customer base, and also increase the quantity and variety of items she currently sells.

This is her eighth loan with Kiva and she feels very grateful for the financial help she is receiving so she can continue moving forward. For this reason, she promises to make punctual payments. With the requested amount of 3000 soles, she will buy products such as rice, sugar, milk, canned fish, and more.
