A loan of $550 helped to buy clothing for children and adults.

Rosalia's story

Rosalia, 25, is single and does not yet have children. She lives in her mother's house with her 3 siblings. Rosalia has a business selling all brands, models, styles and colors of clothing. Every 2-4 weeks, she travels to another city to buy the clothing at wholesale. Later she offers them for sale to her friends, relatives, and other acquaintances on credit. Ever since she started this business she has worked on her own. She started 5 years ago, and has seen that this is a very profitable business because it generates a good income for her that she uses to help cover her expenses and those of her family.

After some time, she started selling shoes and other items such as toys and accessories for children. What she likes about this activity is that it allows her to have time to devote to her studies and to carry out household tasks as needed. This will be her 3rd loan from Kiva, and she is very content to know that she has financial support that will enable her to continue forward with her business. With the sum of 1,500 Peruvian soles that she requests, she will buy a large quantity of clothing for children and adults.
