Rocio's story

Rocío is 52 years old, divorced, and lives with three out of her four children in her own home. Rocio is a woman who has always worked to get ahead. She is currently selling meals. She works in a booth that she rents from the state, and there she offers a variety of dishes that all of her customers love. She prepares the most delicious Peruvian dishes, and each meal comes with a delicious beverage. She started this work five years ago, and she works with the help of her children. The thing that she likes most about her work is that it allows her to decide her work schedule; she can manage her time and use it for different activities. She is succeeding in her work because she likes what she does, and she hopes to later be able to open her own restaurant. This is her seventh loan with Kiva, and she is very grateful for the financial support she has received to move forward. The amount requested of S/. 2000 soles will be invested in the purchase of some necessary ingredients for making the meals that she sells, such as rice, potatoes, meats, condiments, oil, etc.
