Jestina

Liberia
Congo Town, Liberia / Food Market

A loan of $1,350 helped to purchase more rice by the bag for her business.

Jestina's story

Jestina lives in Congo Town, one of the most popular business areas in Montserrado County. She is a widow and has four children born between 1994 and 2006. All of her children are presently in school and live at home.

Jestina has been operating a shop where she sells rice by the bag for the past eight years. She learned this way of selling from her mother since she is the one who established her business for her. Jestina spends 10 hours a day on her business since her shop is not far from her house. Mostly she uses buses to get her supplies to her shop.

Being independent makes Jestina proud about her business. She is requesting a loan to purchase more rice by the bag for her business. Her plans are to build a house and educate her children.
