Radhakrushna Self Help Group's story

Radhakrushna Self Help Group is a women's self-help group with ten members. The members reside in the village of Jajpur in Odisha, India. The lady standing fifth from the left-hand side in the photograph is Pramila. Pramila is the president of the group.

Pramila, 34, and her husband Kapila, 35, have two children who are currently in school. For the past ten years, this husband and wife have worked as a team selling fresh vegetables in the market. Pramila grew vegetables on her few acres of land, and her husband assists her in doing so. She cultivates brinjals (eggplant), gourds, lady fingers (okra), tomatoes, onions, etc.

She hopes to get a loan to purchase seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and a few tools for cultivation. With the ability to grow and sell more vegetables, she hopes to increase their profit.
