A loan of $850 helped a member to purchase seeds, manure, herbicide, and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing and weeding.

Djiguifa Iii Group's story

The ten members of the group "DJIGUIFA III" are married women averaging 41 years of age and four children each. They live for the most part in polygamous families in Folonda, a village in Commune de Guégnaka, Préfecture de Dioîla, Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to carry out their work at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include peanuts, millet and okra. The women are on their sixth collaboration with the institution.

With this loan, BINTA, who is sitting in the middle of her row, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing for maintaining about 1.5 hectares of millet and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Fana City to a customer base composed of men and women. She plans on making a profit of about 100,000 francs CFA per planting.

In this group: Foune, Binta, Mamou, Mah, Setou, Fati, Aicha, Lala, Awa, Fanta
