A loan of $950 helped a member to purchase seeds, manure, herbicide, and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing and weeding.

Djiguifa I Group's story

The ten members of the group "DJIGUIFA I" are married women averaging 41 years of age and five children each. They live for the most part in polygamous families in Folonda, a village in Commune de Guegnaka, Préfecture de Dioïla, Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to carry out their work at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include peanuts, millet, okra, and sesame. The women are on their sixth collaboration with the institution.

With this new loan, GARANTIGUI, who is the first person sitting from the left, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing for maintaining about 2 hectares of millet and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Fana City to a customer base composed of men and women. She plans on making an average profit of about 200,000 francs CFA per planting.
