Sabougnouman Iii Group's story

The nine members of the group "SABOUGNOUMAN III" are married women averaging 28 years of age and three children each. They live for the most part in polygamous families in Djambougou, a village in Commune de Marka Coungo, Préfecture de Dioïla, in Région de Koulikoro (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to carry out their work at the start of the rainy season. The crops grown include peanuts, millet, and sesame. The women are on their sixth collaboration with the institution.

With this new loan, SIRA, who is standing in the middle of her row, intends to purchase farm inputs and sundry equipment and to pay for plowing for maintaining about 1.5 hectares of millet and peanuts.

After the harvest, the produce is sold in Marka Coungo City to a customer base composed of men and women. She plans on making an average profit of about 75,000 francs CFA per planting.
