A loan of $11,650 helped to pay tuition fees for an undergraduate degree in Commerce at Strathmore University.

Jackson Njehia's story

Jackson is a student at Strathmore. This is his story.
My name is Jackson. I hail from a humble background. I was born alone before the passing of my mother while I was 10 years of age. As a result, I was left under care of my aunt. She had a son and 2 daughters. With so much financial problems and assistance from USAID APHIA PLUS and well wishers we managed to complete secondary education for me and my male cousin. I was the only one who managed to get an admission in public university after passing my National Exam.
I have applied for KIVA loan for assistance since I found it difficult in paying tuition fees and would like to pursue my degree in Bachelor of Commerce. Upon completion of my education, I intend to give back to the society by starting an organization that will help other needy, orphans and potential individuals through their education to make their dream true.
I believe that KIVA will make my dream a reality by enabling me to pursue my career course at Strathmore University where I will obtain quality education from skilled lecturers. It also has an enabling environment for learning with high standards of discipline.
I promise to comply with terms and conditions governing the KIVA loan for the betterment of the organization at large.
