A loan of $775 helped a member to purchse a calf and a cow for her husband's butcher shop.

Abida's Group's story

Abida, who lives in Lahore, Pakistan, is a responsible mother of five children. She has four daughters and is tense about their marriages as she doesn't have enough savings to meet their expenses.

Her husband, who owns a butcher shop, the family's only source of income, wants to purchase a calf and cow for his business; Abida has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan for that purpose. With the profits expected from this loan, he intends to purchase a motor bike for his son.

Abida hopes that the loan will be useful for her husband's work. She thanks BRAC staff and Kiva lenders for their help and kindness.
