Leap's Group's story

Originally from a rural village of the Ponhea Krek district of Kampong Cham province, Leap is a 32-year-old married mother of two children who are dependents, one of whom is in school. Rice farming and cassava growing have been the main sources of her family’s income for 14 years. To better support the family and help to earn more income, her husband works as a paid worker. Together, they can earn about 20,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs and manage to save about 8,000 KHR each day for the future needs.

Leap’s group consists of three members who are just with VisionFund for this cycle. Now she is leading her group to apply for a loan. Leap, who is the leader, wants to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her rice and cassava. With this loan, she hopes to grow her rice and cassava fruitfully and healthily and also hopes to make more income to improve her standard of living and keep her child in school.
