A loan of $450 helped to pay University registration fees and buy books.

Karina Elizabeth's story

Señorita Karina is beginning her credit life with the Las Gaviotas credit group, which she was invited to join by her mother, who has been a member for several years. She lives on the outskirts of the town of Baños in Cuenca. This parish is a very green area, and is visited by many tourists thanks to its thermal waters, gastronomy, and range of places for families to visit. Its people have kept local culture and traditions alive.

Karina is 18 years old, single, and lives with her mother, who makes a living working in a restaurant. They own the house in which they live.

Karina helps her mother out in the restaurant because it has been a family business for three years. She works various hours from Monday to Friday, and this year, she is also set to go to university to study Foreign Trade.

She will invest the loan in paying University registration fees and buying books.

Her aim is to be a successful professional.
