A loan of $250 helped to buy seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides for the cultivation of corn, rice and sorghum.

Amilcar De Dolores's story

Amílcar is a 55-year-old married man with three children. For the last 42 years he has worked as a farmer, growing crops and raising cattle. His father taught him the business of farming; together they cultivated corn, beans and sorghum. The roads where he lives are poorly maintained and unfit for vehicular traffic. Thus, in order to buy his supplies he has to walk thirteen kilometers.

He is seeking a loan from Fundación Campo in order to buy seeds, fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides for the cultivation of corn, rice and sorghum. This loan is very important to him, since without it he would not be able to grow his crops as he does not have sufficient resources to do so on his own. He hopes to be able to grow sufficient crops to help to feed his family and to sell the remaining crops and use the income to meet other family expenses.
