A loan of $500 helped to buy agricultural supplies.

Miguel Angel's story

Miguel is a very well-known person in the community; he lives with his family, his wife and three children, who depend on him. He works in agriculture and animal husbandry activities like raising cattle and pigs and growing basic grains, an occupation he inherited from his parents and that he does daily now with his children. He’s worked for the last 25 years from 6am until 3pm. His advantage is that he owns machinery and equipment needed to carry out said activity.

The loan he needs will allow him to buy agricultural supplies like manure, herbicide, pesticide, fungicide and insecticide for two ‘manzanas’ [Central American unit of land measurement] of land he’s planted. This investment will help him get an abundant corn harvest that’s free of pests. His income will increase. One of his risks is weather change. His dream is to work hard to optimize his business’ profitability and also to offer better quality of life for his family.
