A loan of $750 helped to purchase new farmland and wood for his carpentry business.

Genaro's story

Genaro is 59 years old, married, and lives with his family in a house they own. He works as a farmer, which he learned from his parents. He plants corn and cocoa, which he dries and then sells. In the afternoon, as a complementary activity, he works as a carpenter as another way to increase his income. He makes tables, chairs, and dressers, especially when his crops do not turn out well. All of this helps improve his quality of life and that of his family. Now he hopes that his cocoa harvest gives good results so that he can sell all of his production and earn more income for his new campaign.

This is his first loan with Kiva, and he is grateful for the financial support and promises to be punctual with his repayments.

He is requesting 2000 soles to purchase farmland to increase his cocoa production and wood for his carpentry business.
