A loan of $3,000 helped a member to purchase maize and plastic packages.

Chauke Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 27-year-old Trueman from Masvingo (his hand is raised). He is married and has three children. Trueman runs a manufacturing business producing maputi. The business has been in operation for 10 years. He says the main challenge he faces is that of high transport costs of ferrying maize from Chipinge and Chivhu to Save. Trueman has requested a loan of $600 to buy maize and plastic packages. He says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow him an increase in income to improve his family's welfare. In the future Trueman plans to buy a truck to reduce transport costs.
