Benkadi B Group's story

The members of the group called BENKADI B are married women with an average age of 41 and on average four children; they all live in polygamous families in FANIDIAMA, one of the villages of KADIOLO in the region of SIKASSO, third administrative region of Mali.

They collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to succeed with their agricultural activities during the rainy season. They are on their eleventh loan with the institution, and the past loans have all been correctly reimbursed.

BARAKISSA BLAHIMA standing in the middle, grows peanuts. With her loan she intends to buy farm inputs and seeds for one hectare. Her produce is sold in the village and in the market of Sikasso, after the harvest, to a clientele composed of men and women. She expects to make a profit of 105,000 francs CFA per growing season.

The profit will allow her to repay her loan and also to help her husband with the day-to-day expenses.
