Benkadi 6 Group's story

The members of the group called BENKADI 6 are married women with an average age of 44 and five children on average, all living in polygamous families in FANIDIAMA, one of the villages of KADIOLO in the region of SIKASSO, third administrative region of Mali.

They collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso in order to succeed in their agricultural activities during the rainy season.

They are on their eleventh loan with the institution and their past loans have been correctly reimbursed. Nawa Fatogoma, standing in the middle of the photo, grows peanuts. With her loan she intends to buy seeds and farm inputs for one and a half hectares.

Her produce will be sold in the village, at the market of Sikasso, after the harvest, to a clientele composed of men and women. She expects to make 170,000 francs CFA in profit per growing season. This profit will allow her to repay her loan and help her husband with daily expenses.
