A loan of $425 helped to pay for bananas, sweet potatoes, sugar, oil, and gas needed for her business.

Rebecca's story

This is Rebecca. She previously accessed a 10,000 PHP loan that she used buy ingredients for banana cue and kamote cue. Banana cue is a popular snack food in the Philippines, made of deep fried bananas coated in caramelized brown sugar. Banana cue is made from Saba bananas. Kamote cue is made from sweet potatoes. It is coated with brown sugar and then fried to cook the potatoes and caramelize the sugar. It is usually skewered on a bamboo stick, and is sold on the streets.

Her earnings were a big help in her personal and business expenditures.

She would like to apply for another 18,000 PHP loan for her to purchase bananas, sweet potatoes, sugar, oil, and gas needed for her banana cue and kamote cue business. Her profits from business will definitely help her to sustain her daily needs. She looks forward to this financial increase with gladness and thankfulness in her heart.

Rebecca dreams that her business will continue to grow. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week and draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God that she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay micro finance loans.
