Le groupe MAHUZONSOU 1 est composé de trois personnes qui sont des amies et qui vivent dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, du nom de Philomène (celle qui a la main levée sur la photo) est âgée de 50 ans. Philomène n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Philomène est mariée à un certain Albert. Le couple a un enfant. Philomène vit avec son enfant et son mari. Philomène et son mari assurent ensemble les charges familiales. Pour ce faire, Philomène vend des verres à boire et des ustensiles de cuisine de façon ambulante depuis dix ans. Philomène s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaires et son revenu, Philomène sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe MAHUZONSOU 1, un quatrième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Les prêts antérieurs ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000.
