Gie Takku Liggey Abattoirs Group's story

The Gie Takku Liggey Abattoirs group is made up of five women who engage in different types of commerce. The president, Salla, who is in her fifties, has been selling dried and smoked fish for five years--a business she started with her own small amount of savings.

Salla is married and a mother of a family. She helps her husband take care of the household and contributes to the everyday expenses.

Salla wants to expand and diversify her business and she relies on financing from UIMCEC [to help her do this].
