A loan of $2,700 helped to buy improved vegetable and flower seeds.

Lidia's story

Lidia works growing vegetables and flowers that she then sells at wholesale in the markets in La Paz and El Alto. She lives with her husband and three children in her own house located in the community of Palomar, Río Abajo sector of Murillo Province, La Paz Department.

She needs the loan to buy improved seeds in order to improve production and also help to protect the environment since the use of these seeds means a shorter growing time and so irrigation is minimal. Thus she will improve production while preserving the environment.

Lidia’s dream is to increase production without damaging the environment and to have production that will improve her income to have a better future for her children.

This is the sixth time she’s requested a loan from IMPRO and first time from KIVA.
