Ayesha's Group's story

Ayesha baji is the wife of N. M. and lives in Kot Radha Kishan, Pakistan. She has six children and owns a two-room brick house where she has lived for 10 years. For the last five years, her husband has made a living as a watchman.


In addition to taking care of her children and doing housework, Ayesha baji produces and sells milk. She has successfully repaid three loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute in Pakistan), and is now applying for a new loan to buy an additional buffalo to increase her production of milk.



She is joined in her loan group by a four other people. Samina baji wants a loan to buy tools. Fatima baji, Zareena baji and Nusrat baji each want a loan to buy a buffalo for their own milk-producing businesses.



This is a group loan. Funds will be distributed among the members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
