A loan of $4,000 helped a member to buy more butternuts, oranges and bananas to sell.

Divine Touch Group's story

This is 53 year-old Marjorie from Mutare, the capital of Minicaland province in Zimbabwe. She is married with one child. She also cares for one other dependent.

Marjorie runs a retail business selling butternuts, oranges and bananas. The business has been in operation for 13 years. She says the main challenge being faced is that of some competitors who reduce prices thereby triggering price wars. Marjorie has requested a loan of $1000 in order to buy butternuts, oranges and bananas to supply in and around town as well as hospitals. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve the family's general welfare. In the future, Marjorie plans to expand her market beyond the borders of the country.
