A loan of $2,200 helped a member to buy more fruits and vegetables to resell.

Level One Group's story

John, who is in his early 30s, is single with one child who is still small. He has been selling fruits and vegetables for two years now. He works from 8.30 am to 10.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be John's 3rd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to increase his stock of fruits and vegetables. He has paid back all his loans successfully. He used the profit to cover household expenses. He will use this loan to buy more fruits and vegetables to resell. He dreams of having an individual loan and leaving the group loan.

John will share this loan with his loan group Level One which has nine members (one lady has been cut in half by the photograph). The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
