A loan of $6,000 helped a member to purchase groceries, drinks and beer.

Shammah Group's story

Greetings from Zimbabwe! This is 44-year-old Voronica from Masvingo. She is married with three children, two of whom are attending school.

Voronica runs a retail business selling groceries and beverages. The business has been in operation for 15 years. She says the main challenge being faced is that of stiff competition from other players in the sector.

Voronica has requested a loan of $1,500 to purchase groceries and beverages for resale. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to send her children to better schools and improve her family's welfare. In the future, Voronica plans to own more properties in town.
