A loan of $300 helped to purchase an ox.

Ket's story

Mrs. Ket C. is a broom-maker. Her husband transports the brooms to the local market to sell. Together they earn around $5 per day. The couple has three children, all of whom are in school. The family lives in Chmkar Samrong Village, Battambang Province.

Because their income is not sufficient to support the family’s expenses, she wants to pursue an additional business of oxen rental. Mrs. C. is requesting a loan of $300 to purchase an ox. She will then be able to rent out the ox to local farmers that need it to plow their fields, but cannot afford to purchase and take care of an ox on their own. By pursuing this business venture she hopes to increase her family income.
