A loan of $250 helped to pay for materials and supplies needed in her welding shop business.

Edna's story

This is Edna, 55, a resident of Tanza, Cavite, Philippines. She is married to Carlito, her business partner, and is mother to her children. She, together with her husband, manages their own household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Edna operates a welding shop. Her husband handles the labor work, like welding and the maintenance and repairing of some vehicles. She handles the finances, inventories and promotion of their business. They offer welding jobs, and repair and check-up of some types of vehicles. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of 800 Philippine Pesos (PHP) in service fees every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a 10,000 PHP loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy materials and supplies needed in her welding shop business. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Edna dreams to expand her business and hopes to have a good life. She meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week, and this is where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay microfinance loans.
