Florencio lives in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. He is 44 years old, married and has three children. For a living, he operates a service-based business providing motor transportation services. He has been doing this for years.
In 2007, he joined GDMPC microcredit and gained access to microfinance services. He is now requesting an amount of 25,000 PHP (Philippines pesos) to finance the license renewal and buy motor accessories so he can provide a better and more comfortable service. In the near future, he wants to procure another vehicle to be used for a business expansion.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
