A loan of $2,225 helped a member to increase the food stock by buying more rice, wheat flour, baking flour, beans, salt and Irish potatoes.

Msisiri Group's story

Aisha, who is in her mid-30s, is married and has two children. One child goes to school and another child is still small.

She has been a food vendor since 1999. She works from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Aisha's fifth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to restock the missing items. She has paid all her loans back successfully. She used the profit to pay for school fees and to cover household expenses.

She will use this loan to increase the food stock by buying more rice, wheat flour, baking flour, beans, salt, and Irish potatoes. She dreams of owning a hotel.

Aisha will share this loan with her loan group, "MSISIRI," with nine members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
