A loan of $2,400 helped to buy two cows, ten chickens, and a lot of fodder for her farm animals.

Marine's story

Marine is 36 years old, and she is already skilled and devoted to her work as a farmer, who manages agriculture well. Her farm is not very rich and the income from it is not big, but due to Marine’s care and hard work it yields income for her family. She keeps on her farm now six cows, six calves, two pigs and ten chickens. Marine also cultivates some vegetables and fruits (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, apples, and apricots) on the family's own land, but the produce is for family use and not for sale.

Marine lives in the village Noratus, which is in the area of Gavar. She is married and has two school-aged children. Her husband works as a builder, but he tries to help Marine around their farm, also. Marine is sure that she can enlarge their farm and earn greater profit from it. For that purpose, she asks a loan of 1,000,000 Armenian drams (AMD). She will use the loan to buy two cows, ten chickens, and a lot of fodder for her farm animals. It is Marine’s first deal with Kiva lenders, and she expects good results.
