A loan of $825 helped a member to buy fertilizer and gasoline for his farmland.

Loey's Group's story

Residing in a rural village of the Moung Russey district of Battambang province, Loey is aged 60 years and married. He has nine children. To support the family, he and his wife have been farming rice for twenty-eight years. The current business earns him about 35,000 KHR per day to meet his family’s needs.

Loey has been a member of Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for eight cycles already and he successfully used the past loans to better support his family: to have sufficient food and for his children’s education. Now he is leading his group to ask for a loan. He is going to use his portion to buy fertilizer and gasoline for his farmland. With this loan, he hopes to expand his current business to earn a larger income to improve his family’s living conditions.
