A loan of $400 helped to purchase a door, two windows and 20 sacks of cement, and to pay for labor and for transportation of these supplies in order to continue building his house.

Fernando's story

Fernando lives in Boane. He has been in a common law marriage for over five years and has three underage children. The eldest of his children is 8 years old and handicapped. He also takes care of his younger sister, who's also handicapped. He works as an elementary school teacher 40 kilometers away from his home. He intends to use the loan to purchase a door, two windows and 20 sacks of cement, and to pay for labor and for transportation of these supplies in order to continue building his house. His biggest dream is to build a booth so that his wife who's currently unemployed can start a business. He also dreams of moving forward with his college studies, which he interrupted because he couldn't reconcile them with his work schedule. His biggest challenge is being able to save money to pay for his studies.
