A loan of $525 helped to purchase fabric in order to make clothing in her shop.

Sonia's story

Sónia is single and has two children. One of her children is underage and the other one attends high school 10 kilometers away from home.
She's a dressmaker and a designer. She owns a shop in Boane where she sews and sells clothing. She'll use the loan to purchase fabric in order to make clothing.
Aside from that, Sónia teaches teenagers and adults to sew by organizing 45-day courses in her shop. This allows her to earn extra income.
Her biggest dream is to be internationally recognized in the fashion world and to be able to showcase her creations alongside designers from all over the world. However, she faces some difficulties such as finding a market and lacking resources for promoting her work.
