A loan of $750 helped to hire local workers.

Mariza's story

Mariza, 33, lives with her partner and their two children in an adobe house they bought together. She has been involved in agriculture for 14 years and owns six acres of farmland where she grows cocoa, coffee, peanuts and other products. She enjoys her work because she learned the trade from her parent,s and also because likes to care for her crops. She uses organic fertilizer in order to grow the best products possible. She always hires local workers who help clear the weeds around the cocoa trees to protect new sprout growth. The main inconvenience she faces is having to transport the sacks of dry beans to the city where the collectors are located, and they are the ones who pay the best price. Since she has a considerably large cropland she always must hire workers to help. She is requesting a loan of 2,000 PEN to hire local workers.
