A loan of $1,100 helped to buy rice, sugar, and other products.

Aquiles's story

Aquiles, 44, is married to Gabriela, 23, with whom he has a son named Sharlo. He has a house made of wood where he lives with his family.

Aquiles earns a living in agriculture, but with the money he saved he set up a restaurant on the first floor of his house. His wife helps him sell meals every day. He's very proud because his wife makes a variety of flavorful dishes, which motivated him to decide on his current business. He started gradually, buying plastic tables that he later replaced with wooden ones.

His customers are shippers and passengers who rest in his town because it's on a rural highway. His main problem is getting the products he uses to prepare the meals because he lives in a very remote community and has to buy provisions at a high price. He wants to build his business of quality materials as well as improve the ambiance so his diners will be more comfortable.

This is his second Kiva loan. He's grateful for the opportunity the lenders are giving him because it helps him work more easily.

Currently he wants to request 3,000 nuevos soles [PEN] to buy provisions wholesale such as bags of rice, sugar, and other products for his business.
