Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Vicente Wilfrido's story

Vicente lives in the city of La Libertad, Ecuador. He began selling bananas in the mornings in the city market, and as it went well, he planned to someday have his own shop. This is how currently, after great deal of effort, dedication and discipline, he set up his own shop.

His wife also has a small business and sells clothing. The loan he is currently undertaking is to buy more crates of bananas, as he wishes to expand his number of customers.
